Dramatic tree fern that can remain evergreen in mild climates. Has a fibrous trunk and fronds that can be as much as 3m long. Slowly forms a fibrous trunk at about a rate of 30cm (1ft) per 10 years. Grow in a shady conservatory or outdoors in a sheltered, rich, damp soil in shade or part shade. In very cold winters wrap the crown to protect from frost. Height to 4m.
