Robust form of the "Bull bay". Glossy evergreen leaves, polished light green above, reddish felted beneath. Large cup-shaped richly fragrant, lemon scented, creamy-white flowers in summer appear at an early age. Sun or part shade and a well drained soil. Height to 15m or trim to height. Often seen trained against a wall or as pleached standards. Lovely specimen tree for the lawn or use as a screen.
